While all their albums spent time in this mode, this one is more moody and slow than some of their other material.  If you're looking for the garage rock stomp present on some of their albums (and live shows), look elsewhere, but if you really dug their more subdued material, this is another essential outing.

Better Off Dead is The Shivas 5th studio album and was recorded in January of 2015 at Dub Narcotic Studio in Olympia, Washington.

released February 19, 2016

Recording personnel:
Jared Molyneux - Vocals, Guitar, Piano, Organ
Eric Shanafelt - Vocals, Bass Guitar
Kristin Leonard - Vocals, Drums
Ian Hartley - Vocals, Percussion

Engineered by Calvin Johnson
Mixed by The Shivas & Calvin Johnson
Mastered by Ephriam Nagler
